Sunday, 6am - Wingecarribee River.
Team:Jiri, Catherine, Sven, Tim, Shane, Chris.
Lets call it Face Plant Rapid. A tricky to line up shoot that you don't want to do on your side.
The Wingecarribee is a long day out. Starting at 5:30 to load boats at 6am. Then a drive, a logistics planning session at Maccers, a quick car shuffle down some dodgy roads, past a dodgy "nature colony", back up to the start and we were on the water at 11am.
The river went well, more flat water in the middle section than I remember. The level was good. A couple of pinnings, with me getting stuck in the middle of a rapid, waiting for an expert rescue by Shane and Sven.
The Chasm: Multistage drop, big pool then death. Idea is to pull out before the death round the corner.
A couple of awesome rapids that keep you warm in your boat, some technical boulder gardens that are really fun.
Rock Slide: Fun all the way and a rock assisted 'boof' to end off with.
