Leaving Ko Phi Phi Don we headed to Krabi by Ferry. Arriving in pouring rain, and not being organised for some of the world famous climbing, we haeaded to the bus station. From there we caught an efficent bus to Phang Nga, staying in a suposedly good. But half-renovated really dodgy, noisy spot out of town. This is our base for two days. The scenery around is amazing limestone mountains popping out of the jungle around every corner!
Dodgem Rafting
Today went on a tour for 9km of white-water rapids grade (II - IV) . It was sheer chaos, starting out with about 20 rafts all waiting down stream of a dam. Then they manually raised the flood gates, and the water came and off we went. I n a cross between dodgem cars and rafting we proceeded down the river, that was small volume but with consistent drops about 10m/km gradient. They say nobody has kayaked it, but i am sure its doable...in the future. About half way most of the tourists got out and we had some fun with a couple of rocky IV's.

AAAHHHHHHhhh!!!
From there an excellent Thai lunch, a walk to a waterfall for some swimming and jumping. A hot Herb Sauna (As you do) and then back to town. Weve moved hotels and for half the price we are now staying in a really good spot in town. Phang Nga Inn with hand carved wood furniture and marble dressing tables.
Tomorrow its planned for a trip around the mangrove in the bay then across the country to the east, and hopefully on to Ko Samui.. Till then...
