Its not often you time your weekend with a good solid flood, but we got this one spot on!
Barrington was running at 3.5-3.7 for saturday, unfortunatley the rivers we wanted to paddle had noaccess (upper little manning and Pigna Barney) due to flooding bridges, and small land slips over the road.
So we took on the well know Moppy at what is rumoured to be the highest level ever, 3.7m. A new bridge over the Kerripit allowed access and 5 of us were on the water for one of the wildest rides of our life.
Stu had an altercation with a tree, which left us chasing his boat and him walking out. We got the boat, left it on the bank and paddled out to meet him standing back at the cars. Then went for a re run of half the section to put a deck on the boat and cow-tail it back to the cars again.. All up a good day of flood paddling.
Next day we did the same again, but this time at a much more sedentary 2.5m. Played in some holes, waves. Got some lessons on how to loop a Diesel 65 by Andre.

just wandering how you get this one past the fun police...surely doing this is highly dangerous/illegal?
Agg Stevie, I am sure you could still teach me a thing or too.
Ya, no well. They aren't too bothered, an emergency services guy in the area cleaning up flood damage told us we would be mad to paddle.
But we are quite safe about it, yes Mum I promise. and its out in the sticks too.
Although, I did end up in court after paddling this very section a couple of years ago - but that's a different story altogether..and I was on the police's side that time :-)
