Annual Rivers canoe club pilgrimage up 7hrs North to the Nymboida River inland of Coffs Harbour. A great reliable river we were down for the Platypus Flat to Little Nymboida Junction section. We were doing it as a moving trip over 3 days which meant a leisurely pace and taking 3 days worth of food and camping gear in one little plastic boat.
Soweto on the riverMy campsite on day 1 looked a bit of a spiders web and there were some snide calls of "How's life down in Soweto". But it kept me dry on the second night so who is complaining.

With all the weight in my boat it was a bit tail happy and during Karl's rock rapid I pulled off the tail-stand of the trip and promptly got sucked into the last massive hole..time for a bigger boat and fewer kitchen sinks in the back.
Just to be different - backwards down Devil's Cauldron
A great level at 0.59 Platypus flat, awesome rainforest, sheer pink granite cliffs and some of the best rapids in the state.
