decided to visit the famous Bondi beach by kayak. We seconded a sea
kayak, and missed out on some sleep in order to get on the water at
the crack of dawn. 6am we were underway. An excellent paddle out of
Watson's bay on the harbour side, through the Gap, luckily no oil
tankers today, and down south to Bondi. A perfect landing on the beach
into a getting crowded Bondi beach. A quick breakfast of rooibos tea
(just testing the new thermos for next weeks adventurers in the
Snowies) and biscuits. Then back through the surf, and in reverse
back to Watsons bay..Back in time for work.
The world authority (Google Earth) puts the distance at 21km round
trip. Although the surf report was for 1-2ft surf which was probably
true at the beach, the swell out in the ocean was enough to make my
head spin and keep my eyes firmly on the horizon.

Looks brilliant man. I didn't know that those desert creatures could paddle!?
You can't paddle to work?!
Out to sea in a sit-inside? Or was that more of a hybrid?
